
Don your Grunden's, grab your survival suit and come to Astoria the weekend of September 19th and 20th for the Pacific Fishermen's Festival at Pier 1
TOMORROW: Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 19th through 20th – in conjunction with Astoria’s Sunday Market, you have the chance to attend THE Commercial Fishing Festival featuring Coast Guard demonstrations, industry product vendors, gift vendors and “Deadliest Catch” crews of the F/V Wizard and F/V Maverick, and the F/V Maverick herself will be on hand at the Festival.
Get autographs, photos, even win a chance for a limo ride with the Wizard crew!
Don’t miss your chance to rub shoulders with the ilk of hard-working men and women that work the waters of the Pacific Graveyard, many of whom also fish the Bering Sea in the industry made famous by Discovery Channel’s Deadliest Catch.
Entrants will compete in several events:
Competitions include the Survival Suit Race, Hyster competition, and the “Highliner Competition” which includes successfully completing a series of tasks such as eating oysters, survival suit, stacking crab pots and knot-tying in order to gain bragging rights and donated prizes including $500 cash.
In addition to all of this, there will be entertainment in the form of commercial fishing-related and Coast Guard rescue demonstrations, live music and
NW Limited…History in VogueTM will be there as a vendor in our usual spot at Sunday Market as well as at the Fishermen’s Expo on Saturday at Pier 1.
