Heath Ledger won a posthumous Golden Globe award for his supporting role in Batman:
The Dark Knight. The movie has the honor of being the second-highest-grossing film in Hollywood (Titanic is first).
The film’s director, Chris Nolan, accepted the honor for Heath’s role as The Joker.
The question remains: Will Ledger win an Oscar for this unparalleled performance?

Heath Ledger is “The Joker”

DC Comics’ “Dark Knight” starring Christian Bale as Batman, hits theaters nationwide this week (release date July 18, 2008).
Reviews lean towards the favorable reception of actor Heath Ledger’s interpretation of “The Joker” in spite of early doubt.
In his second-to-last role, Ledger had the chance to be the youngest actor to portray the Clown Prince of Crime, the Harlequin of Hate a/k/a that of the Joker, and there were concerns as to his suitability for the role.
The question might be: “Did playing the Joker wring the life force out of Ledger?”
